Day 3

Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support. We had another wonderful day today. We woke up and started a work project today. Kathy and Alice wanted us to paint a new addition that was recently built for their High School. Instantly one of our team members Rick became the "Boss-man" and started delegating jobs. The girls started painting the edges of the walls and our young muscles Ben and Jordan led a team of workers to roll the walls and ceiling. The work ethic here is unreal!

After school we had a great time hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for the entire orphanage thanks to the hundreds of eggs assembled by some amazing high school girls from Northbridge. The kids loved it. Although many had a difficult time understanding  that they were limited in the number of eggs they could collect. They also had some creative way of hiding their totals from us! :)

We ended the night by laughing around the dinner table and then gathering the kids together to watch some late night soccer. They loved watching with us and cheering on their teams. Continue to pray for our health and safety. All is good! God is revealing a lot to us!

Day 2

We made it through another day! Our team woke up bright and early to the sounds of roosters and children playing in the yard. We didn't think it was possible, but it's even hotter today!  After breakfast we sat through a Haitian church service that was in creole. We can't really tell you what was taught in the morning's sermon... but it was from the Bible!

After church we spent the rest of the day in the yard with the kids. Many of them loved selling us homemade goods like bracelets and paintings. We also had one of the older orphans challenge Sean, or as they call him "Ninja" to a dance competition. It was so much fun to hear them scream and cheer for their favorite dance move.

We ended the day with another night of sharing the days memorable moments and reflecting on the amazing faith of these new friends. God really is doing some amazing work here.

Day 1

Well, we made it safe to Haiti! It was an extremely long day! We had to wake up at 4:30 a.m. to check into our flight and from then on we were in “go mode!” As soon as we got off the plane the Haitian sun and heat instantly thawed us out! It is REALLY hot! We were greeted by a Haitian band and successfully made it through customs without losing too many items.
Once we made it through the airport we loaded up on the back of a truck and rode through town. There really is nothing like seeing the faces of people who have never experienced the hustle and bustle and oftentimes-chaotic downtown Cap Haitian.  Nothing can really prepare you for the sensory overload.  I ‘m sure it’s a moment that will be forever etched in the hearts of everyone on this trip.
We rolled into the EBAC Orphanage and were warmly greeted by all of the kids.  Once we got situated in our rooms we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening getting to know everyone, playing games and taking some much needed power naps.  We ended the night with some small group time on the roof of the orphanage under the stars! We will do our best to keep you all updated on our adventure. Keep the prayers coming… they are appreciated.
